Kilborn: Please welcome Donnie Wahlberg

Kilborn: ah, How you doing?

Wahlberg: Good

Kilborn: Now, We have had you on before and other times you were supposed to be here and that you have had to cancel at the last minute. Is it because you are big time or because you are busy?

Wahlberg: (embarrassed) ….. It is because I was busy. I would like to say it is because I was big time, but that's not really my style, so, you know I.. I do the show Boomtown and live in LA, and I think, you know it's great, it's an LA show and I get to be home and get to see my kids and have a lot of free time, but I have not seen my kids like in 5 days and I am never home and I work about 18 hours day and so

Kilborn: (interrupt) so the hour dramas are ridiculous shooting schedule and of course you are the man of that. You are in every scene because you are Donnie Wahlberg

Crowd cheering and screaming. Donnie laughs.

Wahlberg: but it forces you to miss… miss Kilborn once in a while

Kilborn: once in a while, good

Wahlberg: good

Kilborn: I accept your apology..was that an apology?

Wahlberg: I do apologize

Crowd laughing

Wahlberg: very much

Kilborn: Is it fun, is it fun filming in LA, because you still have a home in Boston?

Wahlberg: Yeah I do do have a home there but I love filming in LA. In the first episode that we did, I got, we live in the valley, and I got to drive down Ventura Boulevard shooting a scene and it was just like a dream come true

Kilborn: Tom Petty playing in the background?

Wahlberg: Not quite Tom Petty but I think it was ? something like that

Kilborn: Do you listen, what do you listen musically

Wahlberg: I listen to old stuff I kind of like Joanie Mitchell (sp?) and

Kilborn: That is good

Wahlberg: yeah

Kilborn: it's goes way back

Wahlberg: very soothing. soft. I like old Rock and Roll Led Zepplin, 70's Rock and 60's

Crowd cheering

Wahlberg: Like new stuff I like Nas

Kilborn: Nas

Wahlberg: yeah

Kilborn: ok

Kilborn: How about Ja Rule

Wahlberg: No, not really into Ja Rule

Kilborn: I kind of like Ja Rule. What do your kids listen to?

Wahlberg: My son well, my baby is one and half, he does not really listen to … him it's like Elmo. We have a little Karoake in the house, he always says, "Elmo, Elmo" so I sing Elmo to him. But my ten year old, he is very, He is in very into dark stuff, he likes Slip Knot, and so not so dark stuff likes Linkin Park, Sum 41

Kilborn: Slip Knot, are those the guys that wear masks?

Wahlberg: yeah

Kilborn: and you allow this to happen in your house?

Wahlberg: My wife does not really like it but I do allow it. I think it is important for him to like what he wants to like. As long as it is not like pornography. At this tender age of ten.

Donnie and crowd laugh

Kilborn: Porno comes what age of 15 or 16

Wahlberg: yeah, 14 or 15

Crowd laughing

Kilborn: Now, Boomtown got great reviews.. Do you listen to reviews? Now when you were in New Kids did you get good reviews?

Wahlberg: I think you know the answer to that question. (smile)

Kilborn: What do you think of those good reviews?

Wahlberg: I don't base, you know, whether or not I feel that I do a good job or anything like that on reviews but it feel pretty good. Because the New Kids we really got hammered for a good five year stretch. I don't think we ever got a good review like ever. Maybe like 5,000 reviews in the run of the group. But I don't think we had one, one, you know, we were mediocre or stunk. That was the usually the best they would say.

Kilborn: Teenage girls groove on you. That was a nice review from them.

Wahlberg: yeah

Kilborn: The actual critics, the old guys they like, they did not like you

Wahlberg: but the teenager girls are all grown up now (smile)

Kilborn: yea

Wahlberg: yes

Kilborn: it all works out

Wahlberg: yeah, it all works out in the end. (Big smile)

Kilborn: About Boomtown, you guys are re-launching, because of Kingpin, is that right?

Wahlberg: A lot of people thought that Boomtown was canceled. Actually we just did 6 weeks of hiatus because of the Golden Globe's aired, the Grammy's aired, and three weeks of Kingpin, so the show was not canceled, so, it's starting again this Sunday, and Bravo is going to run the original 12 episodes on Sunday morning starting from 10 am to 10 pm

Kilborn: wow

Wahlberg: and then a new episode, which we saw a clip of, will air at 10pm on NBC, so the show is back! And it is going to be back!

Kilborn: And part of the re-launch is Bravo showing those episodes, and you coming here to play yambo.

Kilborn: Do you listen. You have your ten year old son, and he listens to some Slip Knot, can he listen to the N'Sync's of the world or not?

Wahlberg: yeah. He does not really like them. My wife actually listen to N'Sync she likes Justin Timberlake, a lot. That is ok. He is a nice kid. My son is really not into it, he does not like Britney Spears and all those things, he says that she sings like a cat!

Kilborn: humm.

Wahlberg: Thats what he says. He does not quite understand what it means to look the way she does.

Kilborn: He did not hear that from you?

Wahlberg: no no.. I don't really listen to hear, I just look at her, I don't listen to her! (smiles)

Crowd laughs

Kilborn: What advice do you give to the boy bands who wants to make the transition to acting?

Wahlberg: Work hard, you know, I don't know I mean, I don't want to encourage them to start acting because it is hard enough to find stuff for myself and my brother. What do you say? What would you say to ? who would like to do something great you, you know what I mean, a former sport center guy. What can you tell him. Try real hard!

Kilborn: I don't know, he should be in a boy band, that's what he should do.

Wahlberg: They could have a few of those boys get together and make boy band

Kilborn: Then it would be good. Yeah. ? up front. That would be good. Everyone knows that you are a sport fan, are you still loyal to like the Celtic and everything?

Wahlberg: Love the Celtics, yeah. I went to see them about a week ago at the Staple Center against the Clippers.

Kilborn: You wore a Celtics Jersey?

Wahlberg: yeah

Kilborn: And what did they do?

Wahlberg: I'm actually a season Clippers ticket holder. But it is just because I love to go to basketball games but I really bought the season tickets so I can go one night a year to see the Celtics, but I could never buy Laker's tickets.

Kilborn: Because they are too expensive?

Wahlberg: No it is not because they are too expensive. It is because if you love the Celtics you can not love the Laker's or even support them in any way shape or form.

Kilborn: I heard that at the Clippers game that you wore your Celtics Jersey and they showed you on the "Jumbo Screen" and the fans booed you.

Wahlberg: Yeah I was booed. It was nice. I felt like I was at the American Music Awards again.

Crowd bursts out laughing

Wahlberg: It was funny! (Smiling)

Kilborn: Alright! So the re-launch of Boomtown is on NBC on Sunday and also the Dreamcatcher movie on March 21.

Kilborn: It was good to see you again
