Adam: What kind of music are you into right now just as far as...like what records that you're listening to and stuff that's turned your head?

Donnie: Um...you know what, I don't really...I don't really like anyone in particular. Um...I think that most albums today are like good for one or two songs and it's kind of like the state of music right now so it's really hard for anyone to sustain my interest. You know? I like a bunch of songs by a bunch of people. I like one song by this person and one song by that person and it really ranges, you know. It's like a broad spectrum of stuff so to get specific would really...you know..it's...I don't know.

Adam: Do you have any like certain bands that like...I mean past or present that you're really like in love with like music, like fans that you buy all their albums? Big fans of?

Donnie: Um..you know I would buy, uh...um...I don't know. The bands I like are broken up. Led Zepplin. (chuckles) You know..I don't know. Not really. I bought Michael Jackson's new album.

Adam: How's that?

Donnie: It's a little disappointing.

Adam: Yeah that's what I've heard. If you're into the independent music, or um..I'm sorry, the independent music world. Is there...Have you ventured into looking at independent music? There's a big independent rock scene out there right now. I didn't know like if you've heard of any of the bands or like anything that's different from the major labels?

Donnie: Um...I like this band in LA called Asa Cruz (sp?). They're kind of a cool band and they're really different. They're like totally independent guys and I've just sort of watched them. I've seen them around and I've watched them kind of go from just playing in LA clubs to becoming like...touring and you know, putting a little independent label together and doing some interesting stuff, you know. But you know, I don't know. I mean sure. I mean I'll tell you if I ever did another New Kids record, you know, I'd probably do it on an independent label. You know? I mean...

Adam: Would you just like start your own label and put it out or something rather than dealing with all the major label crap and politics? I'm sure you know all about that stuff....

Donnie: Yeah. You know because it's you know a lot of film people talk about the music business. When they learn about it, they say "Wow the music business is screwed up.", and you know they talk about it by finding out by exploring it. All they have to do is ask and basically I've told them. The movie business is a lot more fair than the music business by leaps and bounds and a lot of people don't think the movie business is very fair.

Adam: Is that maybe one of the things that has kept you away from making music? Just like the beauracracy and red tape of the major labels?

Donnie: No.

Adam: Did you have any bad experiences?

Donnie: No. I don't love a lot of people that I dealt with in the music business, but some of them are very close with me so...you know. But the ones that were close were good people and the ones who aren't you know are scumbags. There are a lot more scumbags out there than there are good people.

Adam: You think a lot of people are more into like filling their pockets rather than making good art?

Donnie: It's just corporate, man. It's like you know...I don't know.

Adam: It's a business.

Donnie: It's a business, yeah.

Adam: Are you still in touch with any of the New Kids guys?

Donnie: I talk to some of them. They're all...You know a couple of them. They're okay. They're good guys.

Adam: Have you heard the new record from Joey? Jordan?

Donnie: Uh...I heard Joey's. I haven't...Jordan's going to send me his and I'm going to listen to it.

Adam: What'd you think of Joey's?

Donnie: I thought it was...underrated. I thought he gave a really solid effort. It's just...I don't think people were ready to believe him doing that type of stuff. I thought it was a good album.

Adam: I think I've got what I need, so thank you a lot for taking time out of your day for....

Donnie: Okay man. I'm sorry I left you hanging there but like I said, I didn't know the time situation.

Adam: No that's cool. Don't worry about it. It's totally understandable.

Donnie: Okay.

Adam: Alright. Thank you very much.

Donnie: Okay thanks.

Adam: Okay. Bye.

Donnie: Bye.
