Episode Synopsis: VETERAN OFFICER HECHLER RISKS HIS LIFE TO END A VIOLENT STAND-OFF; JOE PENNY GUEST STARS -- When a robbery attempt at a sporting goods store turns into a violent hostage stand-off, officer Hechler (Gary Basaraba) volunteers to go in -- pushed by a desire to prove himself in the eyes of fellow detectives, including Stevens (Donnie Wahlberg). Disguised as a paramedic, he enters the store along with Teresa (Lana Parrilla) to check on the hostages and gauge the resolve of the gunmen, but when he is recognized by one of the robbers, Hechler finds himself with a gun to his head -- depending upon one of his fallen heroes and former TV cop, Les Van Buren (guest star Joe Penny, "Jake and the Fatman"). Jason Gedrick, Neal McDonough, Mykelti Williamson and Nina Garbiras also star. (NBC.com)
